Housing Affordability and the Ethics of being a landlord

Intro  I've been having many conversations about housing over the last 6+ months with people with many different beliefs.  I want to share my feelings here and I invite constructive feedback if you have carefully considered my positions.  I fully admit that my solutions may not be perfect but if we can agree on a premise then we can move forward.
